Europlanet Outreach Innovation Day - "Planets Meeting the Public"
Europlanet 2020 Research Infrastructure is holding a best practice meeting for outreach providers, science communicators and journalists working in engaging the the public with planetary science. The meeting is free to attend.
During the first half of the day, outreach and communication experts will present the dissemination and/or engagement activities carried out by their institution, providing best outreach practices and methodologies, empirical evidence from research in science communication and case studies at a national and pan-European scale.
The second half of the day will be devoted to brainstorming sessions in small working groups with focused discussions on promoting planetary science in three areas:
- Engaging the public, face-to-face and via social media
- Engaging journalists and media with planetary science
- Planetary science outreach through art
The aim is to boost the effectiveness of science communication and the promotion of planetary science and build networks to support outreach providers and share resources.
A limited number of participants (40) will be accepted. The deadline for registration has been extended to 31st May 2016. Some late registrations may be accepted after this date. To enquire about late registrations, please contact: Dr Eleni Chatzichristou: elthchatz@gmail.com
